St. Luke the Evangelists Catholic School wins Senior Girls DECA Volleyball Regional Tournament

On Thursday, November 30, 2017 St. Bernadette Catholic School hosted the Senior Girls DECA Volleyball Tournament with teams from St. Luke, St. Josephine Bakhita, St. Bridget and St. Bernadette Catholic Schools competing.

The intense playoffs showcased great volleyball with St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic School beating St. Bridget Catholic School and St. Bernadette Catholic School beating St. Josephine Bakhita Catholic School to advance to the final. 

St. Bernadette won the first game against St. Luke the Evangelist in the final and were winning the second game, but the girls from St. Luke the Evangelist came from behind to win game 2 and force a 3rd game.  Again, the girls from St. Bernadette took a good lead, but the team from St. Luke the Evangelist rallied back to edge out St. Bernadette 16-14 in the 3rd and final set; winning the tournament.

Congratulations to all the team for their outstanding effort and sportsmanship. The final standings were:

1st – St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic School

2nd – St. Bernadette Catholic School

3rd – St. Josephine Bakhita Catholic School

4th – St. Bridget Catholic School
