DCDSB Easter Message

Posted On Wednesday April 16, 2025

Dear DCDSB Families,

As we journey through Holy Week, we are reminded of the profound love that lies at the heart of our faith. It is a time for us to come together in prayer and reflection to deepen our understanding of the sacrifices that fill our hearts and renew our spirits.

In our Durham Catholic schools, Lent has been a season of hope, filled with community as we support one another in our spiritual growth. Whether through prayer, liturgical celebrations, acts of service, or faith-filled classroom activities, we have witnessed the meaningful ways our students, staff, and families live out Gospel values in their daily lives. These moments remind us that our faith is not just something we teach—it is something we live and celebrate together.

We want to extend our gratitude to our Parish partners who have blessed us with their presence in our schools during the Lenten season and throughout the year. We also want to thank the Durham Catholic Parent Involvement Committee who hosted a Lenten Craft Night to bring together families to celebrate the Lenten season. We are forever grateful for the continued partnerships of our families and parish partners as we embrace and strengthen the home-school-parish connection to support the faith formation of our Durham Catholic learning community.

We invite you to view a video Easter message to families, which features student reflections on their Lenten journey

It is our hope that we carry the lessons of Lent with us beyond this season. Let us continue to walk together with compassion, kindness, and faith, bringing Christ’s light to everyone we meet. In doing so, we create a world that reflects the peace, love and joy of Easter throughout the year.

On behalf of the Durham Catholic District School Board, we wish you and your loved ones a blessed Easter.

Yours in hope and faith,
